Two of the best local companies and one businessperson were recognised with Bangladesh Business Awards 2021 for their exemplary contributions to the economy today (September 2, 2022).
DHL Express and The Daily Star jointly awarded the companies and the individual at a ceremony held at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden in the capital.
Planning Minister MA Mannan handed over the awards to the winners.
bKash Limited, mobile financial service provider, has been honoured as Best Financial Institution of the Year 2021 for revolutionalising the financial transactions in the country.
Pran-RFL Group has won the Enterprise of the Year 2021 award for pioneering in food and agro-processing, business diversification in various fields, and its impact on exports.
Meanwhile MA Jabbar, managing director of leading garment exporter DBL Group, has been honoured as Business Person of the Year 2021 award for his leadership role in taking the organisation to newer heights and contributing to Bangladesh's economic development.
It was the 20th edition of the award initiated by the DHL Express and The Daily Star since 2000 to recognise the roles of businesses in overall economic development of the country.
It is now considered as one of the most prestigious events in business circles.
The theme of this year's Bangladesh Business Awards was "Bridge to Prosperity, Connecting Beyond Borders".
